Yosemite Valley was the home of the Ahwahneechee people for thousands of years before settlers began arriving in this area and establishing themselves there. This tribe is responsible for naming Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park, a national park in the California region's western Sierra Nevada mountains. In terms of length, it is a long and deep valley that stretches about 7.5 miles. This valley is lushly forested with pine trees, surrounded by high granite summits such as Half Dome and El Capitan.
