Located in Utah, Dead Horse Point State Park features an incredible overlook of the Colorado River and Canyonlands National Park. According to one legend, the point was used to corral wild mustangs from the Mesa top. Cowboys would then herd the mustangs to the waterless point, which was fenced off with branches and brush. The horses could see the Colorado River but never left the point. Because of thirst and exposure, the horses did not survive. This is why the park was named Dead Horse Point.
